X-Tutorium – Über Krisen hinausdenken / X-Tutorium – Thinking beyond crises
Hintergrund
Serbien ist Teil des europäischen Grenzregimes und durch Externalisierungspraxen der EU vom Transit- zum Aufnahmeland geworden. Die Situation von People on the Move (PoM) in Serbien wird im öffentlichen Diskurs als akute Notlage dargestellt. Dies legitimiert ungewöhnliche Intervention und entpolitisiert Praktiken der EU. Unterstützungsstrukturen für PoM bauen sich anhand wahrgenommener ‘needs’ der Betroffenen auf. Durch Einbindung von erhebenden Akteur*innen ins Migrationsregime sind ‘needs’ hoch politisch und spiegeln Machtstrukturen wider.
X-Tutorium
Im X-Tutorium möchten wir gemeinsam Grundwissen erarbeiten, um u.a. anhand qual. Interviews & Textanalysen zu erforschen: Welche needs äußern PoM unbd wie werden diese von Akteur*innen im Migrationsregime wahrgenommen? Wie wirkt sich das Migrationsregime auf ‘needs assessments’ aus?
Studierende aller Fachrichtungen sind eingeladen am Tutorium teilzunehmen. Vorwissen im Bereich Migrationsforschung ist hilfreich, aber keine Voraussetzung.

Über uns
Wir beschäftigen uns seit vielen Jahren im aktivistischen Kontext und/oder durch unser Studium mit dem europäischen Migrationsregime. Uns ist bewusst, dass wir als Tutor:innen weiß, nicht-migrantisch und in vielen Aspekten privilegiert sind und somit Forschung über PoM produzieren. Wir sehen die Reflektion des eigenen Standpunkts als essentiellen Bestandteil unseres Kurses an. Deswegen ist es uns besonders wichtig, Kooperationen mit migrantischen Projekten und lokalen Hilfsstrukturen einzugehen und diese in die Forschung mit einzubeziehen.

Background
Serbia is part of the European border regime and has been transformed from a transit country to a host country by the externalization practices of the EU. The situation of People on the Move (PoM) in Serbia is presented in public discourse as an acute emergency. This legitimizes unusual intervention and depoliticizes EU practices. Support structures for PoM are built on the basis of perceived needs of those affected. By integrating uplifting actors into the migration regime, needs are highly political and reflect power structures.
X-Tutorium
In the X-Tutorium we would like to develop basic knowledge together in order to, among other things, on the basis of qual. Interviews & text analysis to explore: What needs do PoM express and how are they perceived by actors in the migration regime? How does the migration regime affect needs assessments?
Students of all disciplines are invited to participate in the tutorial. Prior knowledge in the field of migration studies is helpful, but not a prerequisite.

About us
We have been engaged with the European migration regime for many years in an activist context and/or through our studies. We are aware that as tutors we are white, non-migrant and privileged in many aspects and thus produce research on PoM. We see the reflection of our own point of view as an essential part of our course. Therefore, it is particularly important for us to enter into collaborations with migrant projects and local support structures and to include them in the research.
