Die Keynote der 8. Berlin Lecture des Berliner Instituts für empirische Integrations- und Migrationsforschung (BIM) hielt die Sozialpsychologin Karen Phalet von der Universität Leuven. Ihr Vortrag beschäftigte sich mit der Frage, wie Muslim:innen in europäischen Ländern wahrgenommen und behandelt wurden und werden.
Anschließend diskutierten Reem Alabali-Radovon, Integrationsbeauftragte der Bundesregierung, Ferda Ataman, Bundesbeauftragte für Antidiskriminierung, Nataliya Pryhornytska, Politologin und Aktivistin und Prof. Herbert Brücker, Ökonom und Co-Direktor des BIM die Ungleichbehandlung von muslimischen und ukrainischen Geflüchteten aus einer Diskriminierungsperspektive, aber auch mit Blick auf daraus erwachsende Potenziale.
Die Moderation übernahm Daniel Bax, Autor, Journalist und Pressesprecher des Deutschen Zentrums für Integration- und Migrationsforschung (DeZIM).

Berlin Lecture 2022
The keynote of the 8th Berlin Lecture of the Berlin Institute for Empirical Integration and Migration Research (BIM) was held by the social psychologist Karen Phalet from the University of Leuven. Her lecture dealt with the question of how Muslim:ins have been and are perceived and treated in European countries.
Afterwards, Reem Alabali-Radovon, Integration Commissioner of the German Federal Government, Ferda Ataman, Federal Anti-Discrimination Commissioner, Nataliya Pryhornytska, political scientist and activist, and Prof. Herbert Brücker, economist and co-director of BIM discussed the unequal treatment of Muslim and Ukrainian refugees from a discrimination perspective, but also with a view to potentials arising from it.
The panel was moderated by Daniel Bax, author, journalist and press officer of the German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM).
