Profile


 

Sanda Hubana is a member of the Department of Integration, Social Networks and Cultural Lifestyles
and is doing her doctorate at the Institute of European Ethnology at Humboldt University in Berlin.

The working title of her dissertation is „Conflict or Cooperation? Urban Planning and Urban Civil Society in Berlin. An Ethnography“.

She is investigating the cooperation between civil society, administrative, political
and economic actors in different urban development projects in Berlin.

Her research interests are urban anthropology, migration and racism, political anthropology and Europeanization - with a special focus on applied anthropology.

 


Academic career


 

  • since 2015: PhD student in the Department of European Ethnology, Humboldt University of Berlin (HU Berlin)
  • 2012-2015: Coordinator and ethnologist in the project "Soziales Platzmanagement Leopoldplatz" of the association Gangway e.V. as well as the urban development program "Aktives Zentrum und Sanierungsgebiet Wedding-Müllerstraße" in Berlin
  • 2009-2012: Master's degree in European Ethnology, HU Berlin, and Master's research project abroad
    in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
  • 2005-2009: Bachelor studies in European Ethnology, Music and Media Studies, and Social and Cultural Anthropology, HU Berlin and University of Sevilla (Spain)
