Belonging, Diversity and Representation in Sports Organisations
Project description
The project explores the guiding question of who is represented (and who is not) in sports federations and who is thus consequently granted the symbolic right to belong.
The field of soccer serves as a case study for the discussion of this question. Representations in the statutorily defined bodies and committees of the German Football Association in the past three legislative periods are empirically examined.
Central diversity characteristics, which are also examined in the project at their intersections, are: Gender, migration background, racialized group and age.
