The change from primary school to secondary school is an exciting time for students, but it also often implicates stress. These experiences particularly occur shortly before exams and can cause a deterioration of performance. Especially children with migration background are affected by various sources of constant stress inside and outside the school. Which possible courses of action to reduce the stress level appear to teachers and affected students apart from an adequate preparation of content?
Even small interventions can reduce the stress level. Such techniques, which can be applied in an exam situation, have been developed in the United States and will be adapted to the German context in this research project.
The project will be conducted in cooperation with the Expert Council of German Foundations on Integration and Migration and is funded by Stiftung Mercator. The results will be presented in 2017.
