Gian Mecheril is a research assistant (Praedoc) in the “Migration in a Global Perspective” department at the Berlin Institute for Empirical Integration and Migration Research and at the Institute for European Ethnology. His research focuses, among other things, on racist logics of differentiation and their relationship to conceptions of humanity.

Gian Mecheril earned his M.A. at the Center for Research on Anti-Semitism (ZfA) at the Technical University of Berlin and his B.A. in Political Science and Sociology at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main.
