Magdalena Otto

Former research associate

Magdalena Otto studied Sociology, Political Science, Public Administration and Spanish Philology at Humboldt University of Berlin, University of Potsdam and Technische Universität Berlin. She is holding a Master’s degree in Social Sciences and is currently working on her dissertation about „Successful Cities“ at the Centre for Citizenship, Social Pluralism and Religious Diversity.

Working at the “Berliner Institut für empirische Integrations- and Migrationsforschung” at the Humboldt University of Berlin before, she was analysing experiences of discrimination in Germany in two different mixed-methods research projects. In her Master’s thesis she raised the question of why people of apparently privileged status groups feel discriminated by affirmative action.
