Dr. Aichberger is a member of the division of ‘Cross-cultural Research on Migration and Mental Health Care, Social Psychiatry’ and together with PD Dr. Adrian Mundt she co-heads the research unit 'Global Mental Health' at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Campus Mitte, Charité University Medicine Berlin. Her primary research focus lies in intersectional research on mental health, with a particular focus on the role of migration-related factors, social status, social exclusion and discrimination in mental health problems and health risk behaviour. In particular, she is interested in health promotion and prevention for hard-to-reach populations. Currently she is the principal investigator of the BMBF-funded study ‘Suicidal crisis Intervention – culture oriented and Gender Adapted’ (SIcGA).
