Dr. Georg Lorenz

Georg Lorenz is research fellow at the BIM since April 2016 and works in the department “Education and Integration”. After studying sociology at the University of Leipzig and receiving his diploma in 2009 he worked as a research fellow at the Georg-August-University of Goettingen and at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg. In Bamberg he was involved in the coordination and realization of a study funded by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) called “Competence Acquisition and Learning Preconditions (KuL)”. The study conducted data collections in primary schools with the aim of depicting social inequalities during early school careers of first-graders. The research of Georg Lorenz focuses on causes for ethnic educational inequalities, on discrimination processes and on measurements of stereotypes.
