Since December 2019 Anna Wiegand (M.A.) works as a research associate at the Berlin Institute of Migration and Integration Research (BIM), Humboldt University of Berlin. She works in the research project „From Demolition to Immigration? New perspectives for peripheral estates“ (funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, BMBF).
She studied Sociology (B.A.) at University Bremen, Sociology – European Societies (M.A.) at Freie Universität Berlin and at Universidad de Valencia, Spain. After completing her studies, she worked for members of the German Parliament (Bundestag) in the field of social policy, where she conducted an online survey on experiences with authorities when applying for social benefits. Her research interests are social inequality, migration and urban development as well as racism and discrimination.
