I have been interested in contemporary critical thought, focusing on Michel Foucault and his conceptions of government and governmentality in post-68 social settings. During my stay at BIM, I will conduct research on theoretical and practical interventions of the radical left in the climate crisis to appreciate how their efforts to situate the climate in the program can influence and update our understanding of social theory today. I have published one book on Foucault and two dozen articles (mainly in Japanese). My recent Japanese translations are those of Sandro Mezzadra & Brett Neilson (Border as Method), Antonio Negri & Michael Hardt (Assembly), and Andreas Malm (How to Blow Up a Pipeline).
