Emeti Morkoyun

Emeti Morkoyun is a research assistant at the Berlin Institute for Empirical Integration and Migration Research (BIM) at the Humboldt University of Berlin since 2021. There she works in the BMBF-funded project “D:Islam: 'German Islam' as Alternative to Islamism? Responses to Islamist Threats in Muslim Associations, Communities and Lebenswelten".

She studied educational science and political science in Heidelberg and Istanbul. After completing her studies, she worked as a research project assistant for the Evangelical Academy of the Palatinate and as a director of studies at the Muslim Academy in Heidelberg.

Her research interests include community development, collective learning in religious communities, and processes of religious boundary making.
