Kurzbio

Özgür Özvatan ist Politikwissenschaftler und Soziologe. Er ist stellvertretender Abteilungsleiter der Abteilung Integrationsforschung und Gesellschaftspolitik und der Abteilung Grundfragen von Integration und Migration am Berliner Institut für empirische Integrations- und Migrationsforschung, wo er zu Themen wie Zugehörigkeit, Rassismus, Radikalisierung, Ethno- und Transnationalismus forscht. Er ist Koordinator des Immigration Research Netzwerk des Council for European Studies (CES) der Columbia University, war Visiting Fellow an der University of Melbourne, ist Fellow des Centre for Analysis of the Radical Right (CARR) und promovierte an der Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences (BGSS) mit der Dissertation „Fron Ethnonational to Transnational Homeland and back? Storytelling, Boundaries and Collective Learning in the (Un)Making of Turkish-German Belonging" mit summa cum laude.
